The volume collects photographs from dozens of 1970s California photo shoots. Pictures show models in fetish attire, including varied corsets, panties, hosiery, gloves and bras, often black and shiny. Footwear consists of many types of boots and shoes, some with high heels. Costumes often include collars and cuffs, some studded.

A few pictures show a single female, but most show one or two women dominating a man, who usually wears little more than wrist and ankle cuffs and leashed dog collar. Men appear to be forced — sometimes with a riding crop — to deliver shoe, boot or body worship. In one picture, a woman rides a man's back. One chapter focuses on transvestites with corresponding photography.

The volume contains at least one picture of Jennifer West, Uschi, Yvette Evil, Jennifer Jordan and Rene Bond. Other, favorites from J. Jordan, Hudson, Holly and Eros Goldstripe publications also appear. Some photographs were made in France.

Each of the five named chapters contains an essay and photographs that are intended to illustrate its ideas.

Deadlier Than The Male

This expression appears in many Burtman publications, alternatively expressed as Devils in Skirts or Satan in High Heels.

The dominant female employs sexuality as her weapon, combining that force with the natural ego insecurities of the modern male to realize her powers. She has turned within herself to seek out the true nature of her being as it relates to the sex game and has come up victorious.
The dominant female comes to us from all walks of life.

She may emerge from the ranks of the housewife, or from the dungeons of the professional dominatrix. She may be a college student, or a divorcee who has finally gained an understanding of the power which she holds over the male. Their backgrounds are varied and many, and their ranks are growing.

The recent explosion in the number of dominant females has many causes. The most common theory revolves around the role of men and its modulations within the male-female relationship. The premise simply states that males in modern society have grown tired of the pressures placed upon them to be macho, and have begun seeking ways in which to diminish the roles which they are called upon to play. In so doing, they have created a void which out of natural necessity must be filled. And it is [] natural that the woman steps in to bridge that gap. So, it is not so much the desire of women to dominate that has created this phenomenon, but the lack of motivation on the part of the male to sustain [] traditional power [] that has resulted in this new kind of woman.

A Cruel & Beautiful Mistress

The essay includes a case history of Susan K.

[A man] gave her The Story of O to study, and she states that she found this story of the total submission of a girl to the most outrageous ritual slavery, the ultimate in erotic excitement. At the same time she was reading it, she found herself mentally transposing the sex roles. The bitch goddess transcends her own sexuality and uses it as a tool. Her beauty and her sensuality are her bait, and she employs both without shame to lure the innocent male into her web. Once there, she springs the trap and begins her reign. She will subject her victim to humiliation, torture and slavery.

The Love of a Wicked Woman

The article explores the role of dominatrixes in urban lifestyles.

The love of a wicked women arises from a basic Freudian principle. That being that the male never resolves the conflict between his mother's love and the love of women during adulthood. The reason for this conflict centers around mother's denial of the male's sexuality, her early training in which she forbids him to play with his penis. . . . Her love is interconnected with this training, and the male knows that to violate the sexually repressive edicts of his mother is to lose her love. However, when the male reaches puberty and finds himself thrashing beneath the powerful sexual urges of his oncoming maturity, he literally has no choice but to rebel agains his mother. . . .

The healthy male will move ahead and seek the love and compassion of a warm, sexual woman and resolve his confict. But a great number of men fall short of that success. They find themselves caught between guilt towards their mother and the powerful forces of their own sexuality. Thus, they seek out women who will perfrom the dual function of satisfying then sexually while at the same lira punishing them for their sin against their mothers. The dominatrix performs this role.
