In the page-three editorial, Kim Christy says, “Presently, we are trying to make F. M. I. easier to obtain.” We may interpret that to mean “in stores that sell magazines but don't have the word ADULT on their signs.” In pursuit of wider distribution/acceptability, the photographs in this issue conceal male indicia with crossed legs, shorts, panties, and other apparel. As a reference, Playboy no longer displays nudity, for the same reason.

Letters to the Editor

I am slender and effeminate as a male (57" tall, 110 pounds), so becoming a girl was not a physical problem, although my nose was too big and my hands are larger than I would like. I had to work a long time to learn the mannerisms and speech patterns but it comes eventually with daily practice.

About the middle of my freshman year I decided to go full time as a woman. It was a big decision. I knew my family would be very upset and I expected the college officials would object. . . .

. . . When I began showing up for classes in a dress, the Dean of Students called me in. I was attending a small college with a conservative religious affiliation. Needless to say they were not thrilled about having a person of my sort on campus. They asked me to leave at the end of the school year, but I was permitted to wear whatever I liked to classes. Many of the students, particularly the girls, supported me. But, it was not a pleasant experience. I started hormore therapy and, of course, this meant emotional and physical changes.

Change of Gender — fiction

Henry gets excited when he wears women's clothes and looks at himself in the mirror.

What he saw completely overcame his anxieties, for the reflection of the figure dressed in black lurex bra and knickers, black suspender-belt and light-tan stockings, delighted him and his whole body stirred with excitement. He took particular satisfaction from the shapeliness of his legs and if he looked at only the lower part of his body he persuaded himself that what he saw in the mirror was the image of the thighs and legs of a woman.

He reached for the black slip and struggled into it, finding it quite difficult to get it over his shoulders as he was broader than Joan. But once he had drawn it down into place it fitted quite well, its length just sufficient to hide his suspenders, and to Henry's mind adding to the attraction of his stockinged thighs. The lacy bosom hung loosely, shaped to take a filled-out bra, so Henry pushed a pair of stockings into each of the cups under the slip with the result that he appeared to have a pair of fairly large breasts. Looking into the mirror again, his excitement intensified at the sight of the shapely breasts, flat stomach, and long attractively-clad legs that were reflected back to him.
