Countess Dee Sayde's Reign of Terror
These early Jim illustrations do not tell a story but were selected by Irving Klaw from a group of previously published pictures and narrative text was added. Mr. Klaw published the assemblage under this title in 1958. An industrial draftsman, Jim's fluid lines depict flawless females in corsets, stockings and high-heeled footwear, including pumps, sandals and exotic boots. The settings are tropical and palatial. Some of these tableaux appear to reflect Carlo's influence but Jim's imperious fetish divas have a unique femininity of their own.
The 30 episodes consist of about 60 pictures of uniform size in the shape of vertical rectangles. The ebook version crops many of these to fit the characters to the horizontal rectangle of the monitor. In so doing, some foliage, masonry, walls, floors and shadow areas are excised from the illustrations to obtain larger images of the Countess and her entourage. Text is placed beside images when possible and also on separate ebook pages.
Madame Discipline
Eric Stanton does a great job of depicting shapely women in corsets, stockings and high-heeled shoes and boots. With more than 55 pictures, the 30 episodes tell an unlikely tale of entertainers, investigators and spies. The text does a good job of describing their attire.
Baroness Nina manages Lovelies in Leather, a troupe of dancers. She demands excellence from her performers. Eventually, the ladies rebel.
Punishing the Tyrant Queen
The 12 episodes of this comic serial tell the story of mean Queen Atrocious who levies excessive taxes on her people. An uprising usurps her reign. Mr. Ruiz would have us believe that everyone in the country is a beautiful woman in high-heeled boots.
If you like Klaw comic serials, and even if you own paper versions of these works, you will find the optimized ebook versions the best way to enjoy them.
