After the death of Mr. Klaw in 1966, his sister Pauline sold about 70 sets of flats to Ed Mishkin, who had been a prolific publisher of controversial adult materials since the early 1950s. Flats contained the films with which offset plates were burned. Mr. Mishkin was publishing Mutrix booklets in Jersey City, at the time the flats were delivered, and 70 of his Mutrix titles were second printings of Nutrix booklets.

In Volume 2, pretty Bettie Page is seen restrained in every photo. A skillful poser who understood how to position her instrument for alluring results, several pictures do a nice job of showing off those wonderful legs and ankles. More than other models of her day in bondage predicaments, Bettie construes her lips and eyes to express frustration, dread and anguish.

The booklet shuffles the product of four photo shoots. Each shows sweet Bettie in distress at the hands of a different captor. One sequence shows her tied between two trees, silenced by a ball gag.

In a living room series, she's tied to chairs and small tables. Elsewhere, she's spread face-down and roped to hooks in a wood plank floor. In a few pictures, she's off the floor, her elbows wrapped around steel pipes. In another set, Ms. Bettie crawls on the carpet in animal print bra, panties and chains, gagged with a bandana.

Models appear in stockings, held in place by either garter belt or garters, pumps, bras and panties. To avoid conflicts with postal authorities, Mr. Klaw had someone use opaque photography paint to extend panties on bodies. This was intended to ensure modesty and circumvent accusations of obscenity.

Levels, brightness and contrast were adjusted, shadows reduced, and many specks retouched. The ebook iteration provides a visual experience that is superior to the old paper.

Most of the pictures with a vertical orientation fill the screen from top to bottom. Photographs with a horizontal orientation have been rotated to appear appropriately in the ebook.
