A group of affluent gentlemen who call themselves the Penthouse Champion Club meet in members' spacious apartments to watch pretty women fight each other. The nominal locales include New York, Chicago, New Orleans, and Washington, DC. Dressed in black tie or other formal attire, the context suggests that these refined men are wealthy Americans who enjoy watching, and can afford to organize, living-room bouts. At the end of each match, they award an ornate belt to the winner.
Arrogant contenders named Cynara, Candy, Valerie Duval, June, Stavra Starovka, Peggy, Ginny, and Regina trade insults and ridicule before and during fights. In the heat of battle, these lovely contenders engage in punching, kicking, hair pulling, biting, twisting, flipping, kneeing, pinching, elbowing, scissoring, tossing, slamming, dress tearing, and burning sensitive flesh with a lit cigarette.
Artist SAJA shows impressive comic talent, both as illustrator and story-teller. SAJA delineates these comic serials in fluid lines of inky black, without grays, in bordered and borderless panels, sometimes overlapping limbs. Narrative blocks and dialog balloons are hand-lettered.
Throughout the vigorous athletic interplay, he choreographs exposure of appealing feminine curves from engaging viewpoints. Eschewing nudity here, he sometimes surprises with the intimate meanness strong fingers can wreak.
Ten four-page episodes have three to six tableaux per page. The digital replica contains 40 pages of glamorous grapplers, often fighting in undies and pumps.
Picture brightness and contrast were adjusted. All new scans.
The optimized version disassembles pages, presenting each scene on a separate ebook page. In many cases, narrative text and dialog balloons were moved to the side to show charming female figures at maximum size. More than 160 pictures.
Two digital iterations expose SAJA's dynamic damsels in vivid striving fury. Effective presentation techniques make the lovely ruckus easy to enjoy.
