Mr. Klaw advertised Leather Boot Club in Irving Klaw Bulletin 93 in November 1954, which probably announced the first half. The other episodes were listed in Klaw Bulletin 96 in February 1955.

Despite unlikely characters and impossible fetish costumes, the story recalls popular paranoia about proliferation of professional subversives during the Cold War. An urban night spot, the Leather Boot Club serves as a covert meeting place for members of the notorious Subbies organization.

Working with Captain Langham, police detectives Yvette and Pauline pretend to be interested in the night club, and its mandatory bondage/fetish fashions, to infiltrate the elusive ring of spies.

Soon, club owner and Grand Mistress Madam Zola recognizes the policewomen. When they ask to become members of the Inner Circle, Madam Zola devises severe initiation ordeals involving a welded steel corset and stringent bondage. Concurrently, Subbie agents kidnap police secretary Sonia. In their punishment lair, she finds other missing women as evil enemies tighten painful restraints to persuade her to reveal what she learned while typing reports.

Pumps, sandals or boots with high, thin heels, collars, gloves, hosiery and figure-shaping belts and corsets enhance the feminine forms. Both sides use ropes, chains, cuffs, gags, pipe, furniture, masonry and timbers to stretch, bend, twist
and constrain the firm bodies of
their foes.

We’ve seen Mr. Stanton acclaimed as “The Master of Fetish,” and works such as this one helped him to build that reputation. With ink and pencil, most of the pictures use grays to show shine, shape and contour. The youthful energy of the artist manifests itself in a treasure of ornate bondage details that carefully delineate masks, buckles, cuffs, straps, machinery, and all the laces that close boots and corsets. The lithe, long-legged femmes of the story do their work or take their punishment in an exotic wardrobe sexy footwear, all with tall, spiked heels.
