At BB-36, Brothers in Bondage was early in the Bizarre Books series, back when each paperback novel included 16 Bill Ward illustrations. Later in the series, volumes contained as few as 12 pictures.
Like other dominating female characters in Bizarre Books novels, Lydia Rinaldo leads an autonomous lifestyle that enables her to pursue her favorite indulgence: using young men for her pleasure. In Lydia's case, enjoying helpless males mostly involves hurting them and forcing them to perform ignominious tasks.
The back cover provides a good synopsis of the books twisted premises.
When Seth Garrick arrived at Lydia Rinaido's house, hoping to elude the police, he had no idea of the strange and frightening series of events his presence would set off. Having failed in his attempt to hold up a bank, he now failed once again. For Lydia was a woman whose one true passion in life was bondage and discipline, her men reduced to victims and timid slaves.
As skillful with the whip as she was with the lash, she took the unsuspecting young man into the confines of her home and the confines of her savage and sadistic heart. That was when the nightmares began. Aided by her powerful Great Dane, Lydia began a process of education, teaching Seth the meaning of obedience and respect, debasement and self-disgust.
Her tortures were both bizarre and agonizing, from the use of electro-shocks on his private parts, to an archery set whose arrows were dildos designed to pierce a man's anus. . . . And when Jeremy Garrick arrived with the hope of rescuing his brother, Lydia managed to deal with him as well. Escape seemed out of the question until Lydia made one fatal mistake.
Through most of the book, Lydia introduces failed-bank-robbery fugitive Seth to an ornate litany humiliation, degradation and physical anguish. He's diapered, chained, whipped, pinched and plugged with a dildo-shaped arrow. She uses electricity to shock him. He's forced to deliver boot and body worship and engage with Lydia's dog. But he's intoxicated by the stormy allure of his attractive captor.
When brother Jeremy arrives, Lydia confines the would-be liberator in a barbed cage. She hits him with a spiked paddle then installs a ring in his nose and attaches a leash.
Mr. Duchamp's skillful prose exposes a vile nightmare with vivid precision. His narrative describes contraptions, costumes, thoughts and sensations with a simple vocabulary.
The text was re-set for the ebook iteration. Some redundant modifiers were excised. Some long sentences and paragraphs were divided in two. The prose retains the meter and vocabulary of the original.
Sixteen illustrations by the Great Bill Ward illuminate the story with close alignment of images and narrative. Image brightness and contrast were adjusted. Most drawings depict incidents in the story, and display the grand female figure of the sexy protagonist in corsets, garter belts, nylons, gloves, boots and high heels.
Tasty fetish features of these voluptuous illustrations are repeated, enlarged, on separate pages. The intent of these virtual enlargements is to reduce the need for zooming and scrolling.
The ebook shows Bill Ward's art on 60 pages. As permitted by story content, pictures were placed close to prose that describes it. Not every scene in the text appears in pictures but most pictures depict scenes in the story.
All new scans. Female nudity.
A second optimized ebook shows only Bill Ward drawings.
