During the 1970s, Eros Publishing Company launched the Bizarre Books series with diagonal Eros Goldstripe ribbons on covers. The series included male domination and female domination novels, often with forced transvestism, usually illustrated by a gifted artist.

Told as episodes, I, A Man-Hater presents a portrait of sexy, sadistic Carla Scott. We're told about her abused victims and vicious cohorts.

The back cover provides a good summary.

Carla Scott learned from her parents. She learned from her father that men were weak and spineless. She learned from her mother how to administer stern and demeaning punishment. And she never forgot her lessons.

First there was Terry, her young brother. She trained him well, demeaning him, teaching him how to become her slave, her sexual property.
Then there was Alvin Winthrop, a college professor whom she slowly and insidiously ensnared. Spanking was not enough, for she could only take delight in the exquisite torture of sodomizing him, defiling his manhood until he was a mere shadow of his former virile self.

And then there was Peter, young and innocent, destined to become Pattie, Carla Scott's own personal slave. Torture and pain taught him that she was the master of his life, even when she loaned him out to friends, friends who thought nothing about abusing him in the most humiliating ways imaginable.

Yes, Carla had learned from her parents, that a woman was a goddess and all men were dirt, vermin to be squashed under the heel of her boot! And she never ever forgot her lessons.

With Professor Winthrop, Carla first teases him with her splendid body, perched on spike-heeled shoes. She beats him with his belt, pokes him with pins and hurts him with clamps. After she applies her own fiery branding iron to his chest, she commands him to lick her exotic footwear.

With bra, garter belt, stockings and high heels, she converts Peter into Pattie. Dressed in gloves and long boots, she commands her transvestite slave to lick her leather.

Mr. Fenger's first-person narrative does a good job of describing the vicious attitudes of the cruel protagonist. She enjoys abusing helpless prey and using them to satisfy her relentless sexual appetites. Drawn as a competent villain, Carla employs a clever program of disorienting experiences, causing confusion and rationalization in her subjects, developing their inner masochist. For those who enjoy reading about sadists who play with submissive men, I, A Man-Hater delivers an enjoyable read with nasty punishments and sensual sex scenes.
