In the context of the magazine title, dominant means a women who subjugates, hurts and abuses female and male volunteers who enjoy that kind of experience. The second issue presents long-haired Mistress Lana, who binds and torments female and male “slaves”.

Page four provides this introduction to her:

Lana White can fool you. Barely five feet, she is deceiving in her ability to control slaves twice her size. Once under her control, the slave has no trouble in figuring out that size makes absolutely no difference.

The ropes are expertly placed and tightly drawn, as our pictures show. Mistress Lana has a stable of slaves, but none would consent to be photographed, which we both understand and respect. We called on those who we can count on to understand Mistress Lana: Ward Crenshaw, experienced in the scene and HOM regular, and Simone Devon, herself well known to those in the field in the Los Angeles area.

Text accompanying photography takes the form of interview with Mistress Lana. She only accepts experienced supplicants as slaves, and, during her two-hour sessions, she makes all decisions.

I have the belief that everyone is somewhere on three scales:

aggressive/passive,

dominant/submissive,
and
sadistic/masochistic.

The problem facing me in the sessions — and certainly the problem of the slave — is to place the slave in his correct position on each of those scales. I consider that to be my sole function. That is what I bring to the situation — and all of it is done through the pain/response syndrome.

The Mistress uses ropes to restrain slaves using a nautical orthodoxy of knots. She tightens set screws of a gimbal-like device into Ward's penis. Fingers, teeth and clothespins torment Simone's nipples, while steel spring-clamps are applied to Ward's chest. When her slaves wince in pain, Mistress Lana smiles at them and the camera.

She explains a crucial transition during her sessions:

I refer to it as the cross-over point — that point where the pain ceases to be pain and turns slowly into pleasure. It's rarely achieved in sessions where the inexperienced are present. It always occurs when experienced people are there. It makes that session completely different and of a vastly higher quality than anyone else can possibly expect to find. That is why I have been as successful as I have been and why people come back again and again. I'm real. I really believe in what I do, and I work hard at it. I never misrepresent it. I always inform the slave of what to expect.

Simone wears brief bikini panties pressed into her body by tight ropes, and in some pictures, black pumps. The male wears only his bondage and a grimace.

The cover characterizes the magazine as a correspondence publication, and 23 pages present personal ads from women, most of whom dominate. Ads from men of various inclinations appear on five pages. Many self-descriptions expose bizarre services and preferences that define unique personalities.

A pictorial about El Paso's Mistress Karen fills the center of the magazine. Photos of this solemn practitioner show her whipping, poking, riding and yanking a fettered male submissive.

Mistress Erika offers a short essay about public floggings. Pictures from scenes in the film Larry's Lesson show him being abused by two lovely women. He's bound, gagged, whipped, collared, ridden, and clipped.

Two short stories. Letters to the editor.

The ebook includes all content of the 64-page magazine, including advertising. Page sequence was revised slightly to obtain continuity of the letters section. The centerfold triptych is placed on three pages.

Brightness and contrast were adjusted and shadows reduced. As many snapshots accompanying personal ads are dark, the ebook provides clarity not available in the paper original.
