In 1987, people working in the adult magazine business had no idea their days were numbered. The international connectivity of the internet, just a few years away, would change delivery of erotica, and every other type of published content, profoundly and forever.

Many 1980s magazine were 48 pages, some of which held advertising. The premier issue of Parliament-distributed Under Her Thumb consists of 44 photo-filled pages, none of which include advertisements. Content consists of four pictorials in which women dominate men.

THESE HEELS WERE MADE FOR CRUSHING

One of the last shoots done in Mr. Burtman's Manhattan penthouse, this 1970 set shows a shapely redhead in corset, gloves, nylons and high heels. She rides, knees, pokes and abuses the naked male at her feet.

MARGOT TAMES A WISE GUY

The model named Margot in this scenario looks like the sultry beauty in Alexis - Angel of Pain. Carl seeks dominatrix service from Margot and they orchestrate a drama in which his misbehavior requires that he be punished for insolence. In studded bra, panties, boots and corset, Margot assails her client with a cat-o'-nine-tails. After he's stripped, he wears a dog collar connected to a leash. She overcomes his resistance and, on the last page, fits him with a leather helmet.

YOU KNOW WHAT I WANT

In shiny halter and skirt, a sexy blond in strappy sandals demands foot worship from the delivery man. When he's naked, she accessorizes her slave with wrist and ankle cuffs and chains. In corset and boots, she rides his back.

TWO DOMS ARE HARDER THAN ONE

Before the arrival of their “Smart-Ass Masochist,” Roxanne and Regina change into leather dress and jumpsuit and high-heeled boots. Bilbo gets whipped and provides boot and body worship.

The digital replica contains all content in the original sequence. A few layouts were revised slightly. The magazine contains no advertising, illustrations, or fiction.

Three pictorials were accomplished in a professional photo studio. Brightness and contrast were adjusted, shadows reduced, and many specks re-touched. Some walls, floors, furniture, empty margins and borders were cropped out.
