The short-lived, digest-sized Bizarre Life iteration worked as precursor to the 16 full-sized Bizarre Life issues of the late 1960s. Like its later versions (1966 to 1970), Limited Edition Number Two offers some of the same content categories.

pictorials of models in fetish attire

SHARON WILSON
A petite brunette, Ms. Wilson strikes intriguing poses in front of a stone fireplace. We've seen pictures from this set in many Burtman-related publications, but this early work may be their first appearance. Her basic costume consists of long gloves, lacy corselette, full-fashioned nylons and pumps. On top of this she may wear a leather dress, a shaping belt, a single-glove, collar and nose mask, pad-locked chastity device and chained wrist and ankle cuffs.

VIKKI PETERSEN
Sometimes seen with her manager/dresser, blond Vikki appears in two different leather dresses. An additional outfit consists of white blouse, three-buckle belt, jodhpurs, and high-heeled boots.

SUZANNE RICHARDS
Holding a riding crop, exotic Ms. Richards poses in Mr. Burtman's foyer. She models a “vinyl-patent outfit,” standing tall in lace-up, high-heeled boots.

an essay about a fetish

CLOTHES FETISHISM is the commonest and most interesting group, since clothes make the best symbols, lying as they do so close to the human body. . . .

Any body surface covered with a 'second skin' of rubber, leather or plastic (or any smooth shiny material, such as silk) can be particularly provocative – e. g., articles such as macks, gloves, hoods, rubber boot or skin-diving suits. Conversely, the frills and lace of lingerie, etc. suggest softness, movement and light over the body-surface.

Certain garments can modify the shape of the body, usually by constriction. The body lends itself to this in two principal places - the waist, which is soft and flexible, and the foot/ankle region, which can be dramatically altered in shape according to the height of the shoe heel.

Illustrated with photographs from The Education of Stephanie and other Exotique booklets.

transvestite fiction
A man meets a fascinating woman who dresses in corsets and high heels. Before long, she and her friends dress him as they do, and he likes it.

letters from readers
Correspondence from fetishists in many countries describe compelling interests. Accompanied by photographs of women dressed in rubber, stockings, corsets, high heels and a shiny rain coat.

filler illustrations
Familiar art by Eric Stanton and Gene Bilbrew.

The booklet includes a plea for readers to write to the editors about their fetish-related experiences and fantasies and complete a questionnaire. No address appears on any of the 90+ pages. There is no advertising.

The ebook contains all content of the booklet. Page sequence was revised to obtain continuity of the short story and a pictorial.

Brightness and contrast were adjusted, shadows reduced and many specks retouched. A few page layouts were revised to avoid reduction of photograph size. Many of the images transposed well to ebook format.

In a way that may have sought successor status to John Willie's Bizarre magazine,
Bizarre Life, Limited Edition, focuses on fetishes. While it ignores the female-domination-of-men theme that made its full-sized, successor publication truly bizarre, this obscure mid-century curiosa has unique value that earns it a place in our catalog of digitized paper ephemera.
