In 1980, a new Ms. magazine was on newsstands each month, Gloria Stienem, Germaine Greer and Betty Friedan were on TV talk shows and bestseller lists, and the terms “women's liberation” and “women's lib” were heard in conversation everywhere. The national culture was turned on its head by the common sense notion that women were as competent as male employees and deserved equal pay for equal work.
Dominant females were characters in erotica at least as far back as the 18th century, but cultural clichés of the 1970s and 1980s rendered avenging bitches timely, plausible characters during those years. When her victim was male, her sadistic cruelty delivered social justice, albeit seamy and rough. The content of Sadistic Secretary dates from those times, and makes references to femlib ideals, the rhetoric of a woman's commune, male chauvinism, and the male-dominated business community.

Source material for Sadistic Secretary derives from a publication that's shaped like a magazine, but which consists of one story with about 90 photographs and 2800 words of narrative.
The existing text was thoroughly edited and new action and dialog were added. The intent was to make story align with photography. The current iteration of 4100 words uses a more precise vocabulary, although a few sentences remain unchanged.

The photography was probably accomplished in a studio, made to look like an office. One male model and an attractive woman deliver convincing portrayals of punished male and righteous avenger. In addition, Susanne appears to enjoy punishing and humiliating her captive in many photos. These expressions provide a touch of counterweight and sadism to typically solemn femdom characters (who are not necessarily sadists).
Most photographs have soft shadows that seem to be a deliberate element that re-state the dark anger of the secretary. 2016 adjustments to the images reduce shadows to better disclose her moody beauty, lovely body and fetish attire. Some pictures are grainy.

In the first 30 pictures, Susanne wears a leather corset, stockings, and high-heeled sandals. In the remaining photos, she's changed into a red satin corselette, over-the-elbow patent gloves and thigh-high, two-tone, lace-up patent leather boots. Her assortment of whips serves both as fashion accessory and paraphernalia of punishment.
The ebook is dubbed “a fetishist's fantasy” because a boot fetishist dreams of a demanding doll in boots who directs him to lick, kiss or suck her exotic footwear. This is what Susanne does with John, except in their case it's a turnabout motif that constitutes humiliating chastisement for a history of misconduct.
