InFemale Mimics, we meet men who entertain professionally, singing, dancing and telling jokes on the stages of cabarets. The third issue of this classic magazine introduces us to a couple of other offbeat subjects, as well, neither of which directly relates to female impersonation.

An autobiographical piece tells us of the trials and tribulations of a young “half-man” who endured multiple surgeries to transform himself into an attractive woman. Photographs show the product of the self-directed transformation.

With many pictures of guests having fun, an article tells us of three stylish Parisian nightspots that cater to women who dress as men. Le Monocle, which opens at midnight and closes at dawn, Chez Moune and Frede’s Cabaret are all owned and operated by women who “come on” as men, including all personnel.

Another feature takes us to the Art Students League Ball and Artists Equity Ball in New York City. Photos show glittering revelers glamming it up in feathers, frills and fishnets.

Terry Noel shows us a detailed transformation from conventional male to sexy blonde. A successful female impersonator, Terry models a gown and a few of his favorite leather items in stockings, gloves and heels.

King of the costumers Rex Huntington helps impersonation star Toby Marsh metamorphose into his onstage femme persona with the careful application of face makeup, lingerie and a custom-made gown. Zany Pudgy Roberts reveals his peculiar female countenance as a stripping, comic clown in Greenwich Village. Pretty Ricky Rene also strips, but in a rathskeller in Hamburg’s Reperbahn district.

“Beautiful blond” Brit Terry Durham presents a startling feminine illusion. He certainly has the face for impersonation and had some figure-enhancing surgery to fill out his image.

We’re given peeks backstage at the Frau Helen Club in Frankfurt, Germany. Onstage, amateurs and professionals show unique motifs and personalities.
