Stocking Parade, Volume 1, Number 4
Published at irregular intervals during the 1960s, the full-sized Stocking Parade focused on pretty women in hosiery. In 1965, Mr. Burtman merged Stocking Parade with his High Heels magazine.

This issue lives up to its name, with an assortment of stockings on shapely legs, including RHT, FF, seamed tights, patterned, and fishnets. Just about every picture in this issue shows pretty women in hosiery.

Most of the magazine consists of short pictorials of individual models. The longest of these shows exotic Toni Troy in full-fashioned and patterned stockings and shiny high-heel pumps, two-tone knee boots and mules. She models the boots for the color centerfold and the back cover.

• Three short stories, introduced by full-page Gene Bilbrew illustrations

• A two-page episode of Mr. Bilbrew's "Silk Stocking Stars" comic serial

• Letters to the Editor, with photos

• Pictorials of models Helen Davis, Shan Benedict, Gloria Vaughn Andi Scott, Linda
Lambert, Monica Strand, Alicia Alvarez, Maria Powell, Julie Green, and Liza Lawrence.

The ebook contains every word and picture of the original. Many page layouts have been revised to obtain larger pictures of the models. The page sequence was revised to place the text of short stories on succeeding pages.

an optimized version
Each of the fine photos and illustrations is placed on a wide ebook page proportioned to fill the horizontal space framed by Acrobat Reader on screens. The nearly complete image is shown at one end and enlargements of footwear, corsets and stockings appear beside it or on the following page.

Some of the walls, floors and furniture have been cropped out of pictures to obtain maximum presentation of models and characters. As many pictures are small, this technique is probably the best way to enjoy all the precious details in the original material. The optimized version of Stocking Parade 4 consists of more than 140 pages of pinup photos and drawings.

Mr. & Mrs. Biven, optimized
Sometimes titled David Biven, this all-too-short comic story of 10 panels from the early years of Mr. Stanton's last period has a quick, sketchy quality. The illustrations may have been done in watercolor, but the lines and shapes are powerful and precise in this obscure gem.

A famous movie star, Mr. Biven explains to his glamorous spouse that the young women he charms at parties are cousins and nieces. Extremely skeptical, Mrs. Biven serves her husband a dramatic dish of domestic discipline to stop his eye from wandering.
