Mr. Burtman didn't always have the cash to pay for the printing of magazine issues he developed, and often sold "publication packages" to other publishers, such as Unique, Health Knowledge, Bilife Publications, Bizincorp and Consolidated. The publication packages contained all the photos, illustrations, prose, filler and logos needed to print a complete issue. Publishers to which he sold this content sometimes added pages of advertising. For these, he received a fee and copies, which he, in turn, sold to raise cash for other publishing projects.

Like many Selbee/Eros Goldstripe magazines, page three makes an editorial statement about the motif:
“Welcome to the Premier Issue of The Stocking Parade . . . a world of Glamorous Gals and Fabulous Fiction fashioned for your sheer enjoyment!” True to its name, the first issue of Stocking Parade is filled with photos of pretty models in stockings: full-fashioned, RHT, pattern, and textured. Models wear bras, panties, garter belts, and a few corsets. To show the stockings, no boots are involved, but there's a nice assortment of pumps, sandals and mules, with heels that range from three inches to five inches in height.

Photographed on the hard wood floor of the entry to Mr. Burtman's apartment, Maria Jenez' does a fine job of posing in high-heeled pumps and sling-backs. Her black, FF hosiery is tight-fitting, well-adjusted with straight seems and suspended by the garter straps of her leather corset.

Curvaceous Anita Ventura interviews Darlene Darcel for the position of stocking model. Anita helps Darlene change into black, full-fashioned stockings, then she poses in two-tone mules with nice heels.

The “Stocking Bait” article by Wilma Harshaw provides a pretext for collecting unrelated pinup photos. In her first-person narrative essay, Ms. Harshaw gives a fanciful history of stockings, then writes about what she wears. She discusses day and evening wardrobes, how she enjoys putting stockings on her legs, and her motives.

A petite, slender blonde, Connie Smith shows off her slim legs in black RHTs, then changes into a nurse's uniform with white stockings. She lets us watch her adjust the garter belt straps that keep her hose tight.

One short story is introduced by an excellent Eric Stanton pencil drawing. Other Stanton pictures are found as filler. The first of several in the series, “Diary of a Stocking Salesman” by Sam “Pop” Jenks is illustrated with an ink drawing by Gene Bilbrew. The first episode of Mr. Bilbrew's “[Silk] Stocking Stars” comic serial fills one page. This series appeared in most issues of Stocking Parade.

Page layouts in the digital replica have been revised to obtain large pictures. Empty margins were reduced or eliminated.

The original page sequence continued prose pieces at the back of the magazine. The intent was to position the color centerfold within the photo set from which it came. In the digital replica, prose pieces are continued on succeeding pages.

The ebooks are based on original scans. Specks have been retouched and image tonality adjusted. The pictures in the ebooks look better than on the original paper. No nudity in this issue.

The optimized ebook technique focuses on pictures, not magazine pages. Original layouts are dis-assembled to place each image on its own ebook page. Pictures of models fill the screen from top to bottom. In some cases, carpet, walls, and furniture have been cropped out of pictures. Precious fetish details, such as legs and heels, have been repeated, enlarged, beside the complete figure or on the following page. The result is a 130+ page picture album of pretty fetish pinups, designed to anticipate the curiosity of the viewer.

Presenting, No. 9, Heather Christy
We've previously offered an ebook (#456) of Presenting Betty Page, another Burmel digest-sized magazine of about 30 pages. The Heather Christy issue shows the model in a single photo series, set in a living room.

Usually smiling, Miss Heather wears fabulous, ankle-strap pumps with six-inch heels in about half of the photos plus the covers. She also wears a satin corset, leather gloves, gartered stockings, a leather skirt, other pumps and nothing.

The interior pages of the booklet are full-page photographs with no text. The inside front cover disclaims erotic intent in favor of providing reference material for artists, professional photographers and models. This was expected to deflect accusations that might arise over nudity on some pages. A few nonsense paragraphs about the model include her dimensions. The last two pages explain photo lighting and camera settings.

Good photography and reproduction in the original provide excellent content for the optimized ebook, consisting of original scans. Each picture in the booklet fills a wide ebook page. Enlargements of legs, stockings and high heels are placed beside the complete figure and on the following page.
