In the 1970s, Eros Publishing Company launched the Bizarre Books series with diagonal Eros Goldstripe ribbons on covers. The series featured male domination and female domination themes, often with forced transvestism and fetish rituals, usually illustrated by a gifted artist.

The back cover says:
“ Harry Lumus was a gumshoe, a private eye who managed to eke out a living tracking down erring husbands and two-timing wives. It was a slimy sordid business, but not nearly as sordid as the details of the case he took on from a woman named Elizabeth Hollingshed.

“‘I want my son back,’ she announced the day she walked into his office. Bennett had left home to take up residence at The Tabernacle, a mountain retreat run by an imperious and clever fraud named Gretta Krommer. Supposedly, she was giving Bennett lessons in spiritual enlightenment. Only, as Harry quickly learned, enlightenment came with a considerable amount of pain . . . and at a cost of three million bucks, all of Bennett's inheritance, besides.

“Pain was the game being played at The Tabernacle, and pain and sado-sexual perversion became the nightmare which exploded in Harry's face the moment he arrived at Greta's estate. Posing as a wealthy and all-too willing student, Lumus was forced to accept Greta's harsh and agonizing lessons, lessons in torment, agony, bondage and discipline. Stopping at nothing to reduce her pupils to passive and respectful servants, she wielded whips and weapons of torture, crushing their resistance every step of the way.

“But Harry had to play the game her way, if he was ever going to convince Bennett to escape.”

The writing here demonstrates knowledge about sadist/masochist dynamics. Mr. Black informs us about the tumultuous sensations, thoughts and emotions of characters. He provides details about implements of torment and the cruel protagonist’s frequent costume changes. She uses figure-shaping foundation garments of leather and rubber to display her voluptuous curves in a way that intimidates men. She may use the long, slender spikes of her exotic footwear as punishment tools or demand that her boots be licked.

The text has been completely re-set for the ebook version. Except for spelling corrections, few changes were made to the professional prose. About 39,000 words.

The ebook has all content of the paperback book, except advertising.

Illustrations show rampant male enthusiasm (sheathed in stretched jockey shorts) for the women in sexy attire and high heels. Female characters appear in stockings, corset, waistlet, long gloves, shoes and boots. Costumes expose voluptuous pulchritude.

Tasty fetish features of the 12 narrative-precise images by the Great Bill Ward are repeated, enlarged, on separate pages (see sampling above/right). The ebook shows pictures on more than 50 pages, which provides the visual experience of optimized presentation.

Illustrations depict incidents in the story and the daydreams of the grand female figure. As permitted by story content, page sequence positions each picture close to related prose, but not every picture is described precisely. Some events in the story do not appear in the pictures.

Brightness and contrast of images were adjusted.

All new scans.

A second ebook consists of only of the optimized illustrations.

Events are conformed to present scenes of wanton sensuality and cruelty with exotic fetish elements.

The dominating beauty in high heels who functions as protagonist in the scenario is a typical Bizarre-Books sadist who demands hedonist treats and male humiliation. The ebook offers the most convenient mechanism for enjoying this rare artifact of 1970s fetish culture.
