TRANSVESTISM — Males in Female Dress
In the 1960's, this book was advertised in the back of High Heels and other Burtman magazines. TRANSVESTISM was number five in a series of six booklets about varied sexual modalities.
Written by Carlson Wade, a prolific author and frequent contributor to Burtman magazines, the essays present candid views of the subject, with short chapters on various transvestite origins and interests. Descriptions and explanations are illustrated by cases histories. Most of the book is text, with about 14 pages of photos and illustrations.

The prose suggests that transvestism is a disorder, and relates it to fetishism, masochism and castration anxiety. This characterization seems a bit primitive in the more enlightened context of 21st century latitude toward gender identities and alternate sexuality.
Transvestite Orgy, Volume 2
Volume two opens with a synopsis of volume one:
“Bob Baker, while shopping in a store for lingerie, meets with a very understanding saleslady. she knows he is a TV and helps him buy panties and a nightie-negligee set, then suggests he model them for her at her apartment. In no time at all, he has agreed to be a french maid to her and her lesbian roommate, with many delightful complications ensuing, one of them being that his boss, sensing his growing feminization, makes a pass at him.”
In maid uniform, Bobbie cooks and cleans for Alexis and Mona. After chores are finished, she ties him to her bed and abuses his bottom with quirt and strap-on.
When Alexis brother Shelley spends the night, he shares a bed with Bobbie, who experiences gay sex for the first time.
He meets eager Kathy in the laundry room and they soon consummate their fascination.
Except for advertising, the ebook presents all content of the booklet in the original page sequence.

The easy-to-read prose offers details of fetish attire and the spectrum of sexual connections into which Bobbie is led. Writer Lucy Tania's first-person narrative achieves consistency in the flow of Bobbie's activities and movement in the apartment building where he's involved with other characters. Although descriptions praise, the author avoids annoying superlatives.
Nine illustrations by the Great Gene Bilbrew illuminate the Mutrix booklet. Flowing ink delineates graceful feminine forms entwined in heat. Although characters shown in his pictures can be construed as characters in the story, little in the narrative matches his tableaux. Despite this lack of coordination, vintage art from close to the end of Mr. Bilbrew's career adds erotic spice to the reading experience.
