In Selbee/Health Knowledge iterations of Female Mimics magazine, we meet men who entertain professionally, singing, dancing and telling jokes on the stages of cabarets. In the seventh volume of Female Mimics editons showing Eros Goldstripe ribbons on covers, we find two additional ingredients: an article about the psychology of cross-dressers and transvestite fiction.
A long, articulate piece titled Cross-Dressing Myths offers passionate and compassionate views about the needs, desires and lifestyles of transvestites. Several doctors and research findings are quoted as six myths are examined through enlightened eyes. Accompanying Goldstripe-style photographs show men and women in stockings, high heels and leather.
Three illustrations by Bill Ward illuminate a short story about 17-year-old Matthew, who's caught by visiting Aunt Hazel when he tries on her leather corset. She calls him her slave and insists that he serve as her maid. Named The Allure of Nylon and Leather, the prose describes hosiery, high heels, gloves and other fetish attire on both characters.
A pictorial exposes the feminine charms of fiery French cover model Caline. We are shown her lithe form at home, in stockings and boots. She became famous performing as a female impersonator at Le Carrousel in Paris.
Hawaiian delight Andrea Nicole appears in grass skirt and unique native headdress. She's one impersonator with femininity to spare.
Glammed-up party-goers and poised contestants enjoy the glitter at three dress-up events. At the C'est La Vie Club in Los Angeles, graceful cross-dressers compete for the titles of Miss C'est La Vie and Miss Beautiful. The Mayflower Ballroom in Inglewood, California, hosts the Miss Gay Hollywood event. The Cotillion Terrace in Brooklyn, New York, provides the stage for Daisy Dee's annual Thanksgiving-eve Ball. Lovelies of all types expose their feminine side in frilly fashions and sexy frocks.
