Issues 1 and 2 of Exotica show no dates of publication. Dr. Bienvenu's dissertation says that Mr. Burtman referred to Exotica in correspondence in 1961.

In the same way that early issues of Mr. Burtman's High Heels magazine have no pictorials showing models in high heels, Exotica presents little that could be characterized as exotic. While models expose loveliness for the camera, only a few pictures show them in garter belts and nylons. No high heels.

There's no shortage of shapely pulchritude in pictures of Pat Hartley, Jean McDonald, Georgia Holden, Sharon Knight, Carmen Leeds, and L. A. burlesque dancer Tonja. In or out of hosiery, fetching covergirl Caryl Sutton is one attractive redhead. She also appears as the centerfold.

Betty Edwards' Lingerie Show report describes her visit to a commercial event at which models parade undies and nighties for the consideration of apparel buyers. Illustrated with photographs.

Beginning in antiquity, Carlson Wade explores the unusual appeal of hair. He tells about myths related to its strange power, and quotes famous writers, including James G. Frazer, Havelock Ellis, and Ovid. Doctors describe the conduct and fascination of hair fetishists. Five Gene Bilbrew illustrations show sexy hair styles.

An Eric Stanton illustration precedes Naked Honeymoon. A bride tells the story of her introduction to nudism on the night of her wedding.

Mr. Stanton's art also appears in eight panels of the first episode of The Savage Sisters.

The tonality of photos has been adjusted and spots re-touched. The page sequence has been revised to achieve continuity of prose pieces. Some page layouts were revised to show pictures without reduction in size. The digital replica has all the content of the 60-page original, including ads.

All new scans.
