Stantoons 23 includes Blunder Broad chapters 27, 28 and 29, which were published by Mr. Stanton. Narratives show scenarios in which Blunder Broad strikes for justice, but her mean foes assail and restrain her through ambushes and spells.
Chapter 27 —
Our super-heroine extricates herself from bondage and blasts an abuser. She finds Superchick attached to a plow and liberates her. The two fly to Amazon Island. Blundie's mother attends to Superchick's bruises and tells BB to recover the Energy Jar at Dr. Weerde's keep. There, Blundie's assaulted by Ninjikah and Sabel, but slugs her way out of trouble. Then Cheetah (formerly called Leopard Lady) pummels and binds her.
Chapter 28 —
Calling her her slave, Cheetah tapes Blundie's wrists and ankles. For the remainder of the chapter, Cheetah's thighs surround Blundie's face and she's forced to provide prolonged “tongue-induced ecstasy” to her captor. Stanton's drawings show erotic action, high heels and nylons from multiple viewpoints.
Chapter 29 —
Dr. Weerde exerts strange mind control over Blunder Broad, causing her to fear toy animals. After he uses her, Cheetah dresses her super captive in a small corset with two built-in dildos. After she's gagged and head-harnessed, Blundie's made into a pony girl and attached to a sulky.
Mr. Stanton loved his super-heroine and gave her dazzling features and touching pathos. Hewn as satire of comic book crime-stoppers with super-human powers, she and her relentless villains flit about a world of fetishes, bondage, strange sex, and magic. The Maestro orchestrated mishaps to expose Blunder Broad's spectacular form in high-heeled boots, while her despicable nemeses hurt and bind the woman.
Mr. Stanton's pen and pencil shape sexy curves, lovely hair and a sweet countenance for his foiled fighter. He imbues his vulnerable character with a precious femininity that asks to be touched. She's pinup pretty but often seen in nasty bondage or otherwise misused.
While the Maestro's skill and vision are celebrated world-wide, a major archive of his oevre is Stantoons booklets. Most were produced on copy machines, which use technology not intended for reproduction of sketches. Often appearing in gray rectangles, the pictures have a stippled texture that works against clarity and aesthetics.
In the booklet, page layouts present text on top and one or more scenes below. The 36-page digital replica retains page format, page sequence and textures of the original. Brightness and contrast were adjusted.
The optimized ebook separates the prose from the art, placing each block of narrative on its own page. The optimized version breaks apart multi-panel illustrations, placing each picture on a separate page. Many tasty fetish details and pretty features are repeated, enlarged, on following pages. On female characters, dusty graininess was smoothed and hatch marks blended together to better show shadow and contour. Careful image editing restores clarity to the original art.
