Unlike Nutrix booklets, these comic serials are complete, based on the original photo prints.

NOTE TO BUYERS OF THE NUTRIX Bondage Enthusiasts Bound in Leather, Volume Four, EBOOK:
Book 1 and Book 2 of Bound in Leather were originally sold as photo prints in the 1950s by Irving Klaw. In the 1960s, he divided Bound in Leather, Book 1, and Bound in Leather, Book 2, into four parts, published them as four small Nutrix books, and sold them as Bondage Enthusiasts Bound in Leather, Volumes 1, 2, 3 and 4. These four booklets did not contain all the pictures that comprise the Bound in Leather, Book 1, and Bound in Leather, Book 2, photo prints sets. Bound in Leather, Book 1, does not contain any of the content of Bondage Enthusiasts Bound in Leather, Volume Four, which we have previously sold as part of another product. [Bondage Enthusiasts Bound in Leather, Volume Four, includes about one third of the pictures that comprise Bound in Leather, Book Two.]
I realize that this is confusing.

Bound in Leather, Book 1 — 30 episodes
Mr. Klaw advertised of Bound in Leather, Book 1, in Irving Klaw Bulletin 74 in 1953. The sequel was promoted the following year.

Through its unlikely characters and impossible fetish costumes, the story and pictures present a peek at sexist, post-war US. These days, we’re not permitted to fantasize about gorgeous women who insist upon being fixed in unyielding bondage while dressed in the tightest of corsets and highest of heels. Yet, this unlikely premise suggested an excellent assortment of scenarios for a gifted illustrator and a diligent writer. The characters create a domestic ideal, where women enjoy showing their fine figures in stockings, corsets and heels to men who appreciate and admire at them.

In the first person narrative, Mr. Walk (Klaw spelled backward) meets exotically-garbed Vicki at a play. At her home, he meets her daughter, Nicole, and Fifi, a maid with a French accent. All of the lovely ladies of the Roberts household always wear pumps, sandals or boots with high, thin heels and figure-shaping belts and corsetry, usually of leather.

The first time Mr. Walk sees Nicole, a large suitcase encloses her torso and thigh-high, lace-up, ballet-toe boots hug her legs. Mother, daughter and, sometimes, the maid ask Mr. Walk, and each other, to bind them with rope, belts and other devices. Bondage paraphernalia includes collars, hoods, ingenious gags, arm-binders, chains and a bridle. In addition to luggage, these lovely ladies are firmly attached to chairs, steel frames, a steering wheel, a table and a wagon wheel. In the story, this isn’t punishment; these characters enjoy their exotic confinement, the-tighter-the-better.

We’ve seen Mr. Stanton acclaimed as “The Master of Fetish,” and works such as this one helped him to build that reputation. Using both ink and pencil, most of the pictures use grays to show shine, shape and contour, but some are only black and white. The youthful energy of the artist manifests itself in a treasure of ornate bondage details the carefully delineate masks, buckles, cuffs, straps and all the laces that close boots, helmets, collars, gloves, binders and corsets. In addition to the slender, long-legged femmes of the story, he decorates rooms with paintings and sculptures of other fantasy females, similarly attired and restrained.

The anonymous text describes the women in the pictures, their costumes, and restraints. The prose uses conversation to introduce Mr. Walk to the bondage culture lifestyle. The processes of binding, inserting, tightening and walking in high heels is carefully traced in the narrative.

The prose was scanned separately, yielding a 19,000-word text file that was edited to correct spelling. Acrobat Reader provides an option that, with adequate hardware, reads the text out loud.

The original 30 episodes arranged two to five comic panels on a page with a block of text. The optimized ebook breaks the panels apart, placing each picture on a separate page, usually with the words that describe it. Several of the more than 120 pages have only text.

To achieve alignment of text and image, some of the paragraphing has been changed, sentences shortened and a few pictures shown twice. Some illustrations of corsets, legs, shoes and boots are repeated, enlarged beside the complete picture or on a separate page.

For those with bondage and fetish interests, the original material delivers dense erotic content. The optimized ebook presents the conscientiously-crafted, vintage work in a form that respects its quality, and uses a display mechanism that intensifies the viewing experience.

In addition to the optimized ebook, a digital replica of Bound in Leather, Book 1, collects each of the 30 episodes, as published in Bizarre Comix, Volume7, with complete, unmodified page layouts.

Sold into Slavery — 20 episodes
A Swiss draftsman, Jim’s fine pen work shows the consistency of an accomplished technician. His slender figures have long legs and willowy curves and invariably wear spike-heeled shoes or boots.

Agents of Duchess Shakkles kidnap Judy as she walks work. Gagged and bound, she’s taken to a ship where she meets other unfortunate young women who have been seized to be sold as slaves to the Duchess' wealthy clientele.

During the voyage, the svelte beauties are made helpless by ropes, chains, cuffs, gags, collars, belts, rings, binders and clamps, attached wood and metal devices. The pretty captives and their pretty guards wear tight dresses, blouses and skirts. Corsets and other waist-constricting foundation garments abound. All teeter on footwear with slim, ultra-high heels, including, pumps, sandals, sling-backs, and boots: ankle-high, calf-high, knee-high, and thigh-high. Some prisoners appear in seamed stockings and laced-on mittens.

Also notable in these ink drawings are the expressive faces of the Duchess, her crew and their prey. Carefully-shaped features show moods, contemplation, fear, discomfort and attitudes, always with lovely, feminine appeal.

The optimized ebook arranges the content of 20 episodes on 80 ebook pages. Each pictures appears on a separate, wide ebook page, proportioned to show the figures filling the screen from top to bottom. The ebook pages are somewhat larger than in other optimized ebooks, matching the taller dimensions of the illustrations in the printed version. This sizing technique reduces stretching and provides digital images with more pixels for improved sharpness of Jim’s fluids lines and shapes.

The 6700-word story was scanned separately and has been edited to remove spelling errors. The detailed descriptions of attire and restraint devices have been re-paragraphed and positioned beside the pictures they describe when possible. Some illustrations are repeated, enlarged, to show closeups of Jim’s fabulous female forms in high heels.

In addition to the optimized ebook, a digital replica of Sold in Slavery, collects all 20 episodes, as published in Bizarre Comix, Volume7, with complete, unmodified page layouts, as sold by Mr. Klaw in the 1950s.

Note: The sequel to Sold into Slavery is [Slaves of] Duchess Shakkles..

Yolanda’s Bizarre Experience — 15 episodes
Most of Adolfo Ruiz' comic serials are set in Central America or the Southwest. Yolanda’s Bizarre Experience has Asian and maritime design elements, with many scenes set on an ocean-going ship. Most of the curvaceous villains wear turbans, sashes and sarongs, while their victims often appear in lacy underwear. Mr. Ruiz' shapely ladies invariable stand in mules, sling-backs and sandals with high heels and most wear stockings and a garter belt. Faces, hair and make-up seem to have been informed by movie actresses of the 1940s and 1950s, as do the “perils” that hold them captive.

The story involves a kidnapping, rescue, capture, escape, ritual sacrifice to a stone totem, jewels, wrestling, and a gang of thieves. Much of the bondage consists of ropes, pulleys, chains, rings, collars, weights, rods, and cuffs.

Two ebook versions of Yolanda’s Bizarre Experience are included. The optimized version disassembles each episode into its component panels, and places each of them on a separate, wide ebook page. The digital replica collects 15 pages in Bizarre Comix, Volume 12 and shows them, full-size, on 15 ebook pages.
