The Unfortunate Countess by Eneg
Eneg's Unfortunate Countess comic serial was advertised by Irving Klaw in the form of photographic prints in 1954. The work follows Ladies in Rubber and Sorority Girls.
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Bélier Press re-published many of Mr. Klaw's bondage comics in a multi-volume series titled Bizarre Comix. Although the quality of The Unfortunate Countess compares well to the comic serials in Bizarre Comix volumes, this excellent work has not be published by anyone for more than 50 years.

The Unfortunate Countess includes some lovely ink and wash illustrations by Mr. Bilbrew, who here exercised his creative strengths in the design of complex mechanisms of restraint, which fix helpless damsels in steel clutches and ropes. The devices pose superb bodies in uncomfortable contortions, well-suited to the optimal display of curvaceous female figures.

In 20 episodes, Gene Bilbrew, signing as Eneg, tells us the story of beautiful Countess Silvana, who is kidnapped by masked abductors. They take her to Marchioness Fiorella Pampanini, who wants the Countess to sign over title to her huge estate. When the Countess refuses, she's gagged and put in stringent bondage of clamps and chains. Then, the Countess is tied to a wagon headed for Pampanini's castle. On the way, a wheel breaks, and Baron Gasperi rescues Silvana and ties up her captors. The story continues with reversals, reprisals, revenge and police.

The settings and contraptions show off the characters' pretty legs in high-heeled shoes and boots. Demeanors vary from sexy anger to distressed innocence.

The multi-panel episodes are disassembled for the optimized ebook, with each picture and text block positioned on a separate ebook page. The wide aspect ratio makes the most of the images and monitors, filling the screen from top to bottom with imaginary loveliness in bondage. Some of the walls, floors and furniture have been cropped out of these pictures in order to obtain larger images of the characters. In addition, a second ebook of version of The Unfortunate Countess is included, presenting all of the 20 episodes, complete and unedited, as originally sold by Mr. Klaw. These multi-panel pages show the original layouts and text.

Historic, erotic and fun, this unique presentation of one of Mr. Bilbrew's best early works is a must-have digital asset for fans of this 20th-century master of line and form. Authentic and complete.

Kidnapped and Enslaved by Adolfo Ruiz
Most of Adolfo Ruiz' comic serials are set in Central America or the Southwest. Kidnapped and Enslaved has Asian and Middle Eastern design elements, with many scenes set on an ocean-going ship. Turbans and shoes with turned-up toes mix with lacy underwear, a Chinese-style tunic and an old-fashioned corset. Mr. Ruiz' shapely ladies invariable stand in mules and sandals with high heels and most wear stockings. Faces, hair and make-up seem to have been informed by movie actresses of the 1940s and 1950s, as do the “perils” that hold them captive. The dialog of the narrative text attempts to express accents by adding superfluous consonants.

This story also involves a kidnapping, rajah's Palace, dungeon, Doctor Wicked, chloroform, Hindu girl, Texas girl, and “panties with radioactiv (sic) dust in the lining.” Much of the bondage consists of ropes, pulleys, chains, rings, weights, wedges, clamps, cages, turnbuckles, straps, and pipes. You know, the kind of supplies found at a construction site or on a ship. A few of the contraptions involve electronics.

Two ebook versions of Kidnapped and Enslaved are included: an optimized version, which zooms in on the pretty figures of Ruiz' healthy characters and a digital replica of the 22 pages in Bizarre Comix, Volume 12.

Fifi Chastises Her Maids by Eric Stanton
Mr. Klaw advertised first 12 episodes of Fifi Chastises Her Maids in issue C of IKAY (i.e., the initials of Irving Klaw) PRODUCTS BULLETIN in 1956, about a year after Girls Figure Training Academy was first offered for sale. While the latter story involves the disciplined education of entertainers, Fifi trains maids. Other episodes were advertised in 1957 and 1958. One of the bizarre costumes described in pictures and prose is named Sputnik, a Soviet satellite that orbited the Earth in 1957.

In the first person narrative, Miss Jones learns of Fifi's establishment in a classified ad. After signing an agreement that places her completely in the hands of her employer, Miss Jones begins a training program. Immediately laced into an unrelenting corset and thigh-length boots with tall, thin heels, gagged to silence any protest, a fellow maid gives Miss Jones a spanking with a hairbrush. On another day, Fifi uses buckled straps to work bulges and wrinkles from Miss Jones' leather boots. Then, Fifi spanks her, and an assistant continues the discipline when Fifi's arm gets tired.

When her roommate discloses that Miss Jones plans to leave maid school, she's punished with a series of bondage protocols that keep her immobilized for days. When she brings contraband candy into her bedroom, the trainee is bound to a pedaling device that spins a wheel of leather spanking straps. While reading the mail, Fifi uses her neophyte as a lawn chair. Then, the maids are contracted to work at a gala party, where Miss Jones makes a few mistakes.

With work such as this, Mr. Stanton began to build his reputation as the premiere illustrator of women in fetish attire. With superb delineation of heels, boots and corsets, he created sexy curves and hourglass shapes. A couple of the illustrations, though, suggest the hand of a collaborator, possibly Mr. Ditko. Fetish accessories, complex gags and intricate, restrictive costumes abound in this comic serial.

Two ebooks present the appealing details of Fifi and her maids. The optimized version shows the smooth volumes of Stanton's leggy dames close up, sometimes enlarging precious fetish features. The digital replica collects each of the 20 episodes, as published in Bizarre Comix, Volume17, with complete, unmodified page layouts.
