Mr. Burtman didn't always have the cash to pay for the printing of magazine content he developed, and often sold "publication packages" to other publishers, such as Unique, Health Knowledge, Bilife Publications, Bizincorp and Consolidated. For these, he received a fee and copies, which he, in turn, sold to raise cash for other publishing projects. The address shown on page two is 200 West 57th Street, Suite 702 in New York, which is the same address shown on page two of New High Heels, Number One, the first publication of Eros Publishing Company (Eros Goldstripe), a company owned and managed by Mr. Burtman. In Bizarre Life 11 (1969), Three is promoted along with High Heels and Corporal.

Selbee publications explored and exposed alternative lifestyles such as fetishism, female domination, male domination and cross-dressing. Three described lesbianism, Selbee-style, in photographs and the text that accompanies, which means young women in bras, panties, stockings and garter belts, touching, kissing and hugging. Tongues appear in a few pictures. While photos show attractive models expressing affection, no sex is depicted.

The 64-page magazine has six “Foto-Features,” all of which end in an apartment. To show lesbianism, the frames must contain two women, and in nearly every case, they do. These are pretty, shapely models who look deep into each other’s eyes in and out of underwear. When bras are removed, we see their erect nipples. Several of these sensuous lovelies also appeared on the pages of Bizarre Life and High Heels during this period. Jennifer Jordan (Jutka Goz, the second Mrs. Burtman) and a long-haired brunette canoodle in bed in a few filler photos.

An anonymous asks the question “What Makes a Lesbian?” Seven panels from part two of Gene Bilbrew’s “Lesbos Love” depicts lesbian inner turmoil in a comic strip format. Letters from Readers tell tales of fun encounters and famous lesbians of centuries past.

This is one of the most obscure magazines we've converted to ebooks form. I can't to find a reference to it anywhere. Which makes the vintage content ideal addition to our nostalgia library.

The rare old magazine is presented as a page-for-page digital replica that preserves the original sequence. Some of the margins have been reduced or eliminated to allow for enlargement of content on ebook pages. All the content of Three, Number 4 is in the ebook, including ads.

The original was printed on good quality paper and the digital replica is clear, without graininess or moire. Most of the photographs are presented one or two to a page. [The large pictures obviate the need for an optimized version.] The photography is excellent, without unpleasant shadows, showing staged liaisons with a creamy palette of grays. Although tonality was adjusted, the films were clean, requiring little re-touching.

The conscientious craftsmanship of the original contributes to make this ebook one of the clearest, best-looking digital replicas in our catalog. The content will please those who enjoy seeing pretty young women touching and kissing each other as well as those fond of pinup models in and out of lingerie.
