A magazine of generous proportions, Nylon Jungle appealed to men with an interest in undies, legs and hosiery. Eighty full-sized pages deliver a dozen model pictorials and nearly every picture shows a woman wearing or holding stockings.

Picture sets fill two, four or six pages. While most were staged in apartments on beds and couches, settings include a wardrobe, a park and an office. Pretty Sue Jensen was photographed in a store that sells skin-diving equipment. Dawn Gilbert, Deborah Maget, June Lombard, Linda Older and Sheri Montgomery also present their pin-up credentials.

This issue displays a wide array of hosiery styles, including full-fashioned, lace, patterned (herringbone and plaid) and textured. Most stockings are sheer RHT. Panties and garter belts abound, with one superb waist-cincher.

Pictorials are separated by hard-hitting articles that tackle urgent subjects like Those Outspoken Undies, The Nyloned Mystique — Part VI: Slips & Petticoats, The Undie World, and The Scam on Gams. Publicity photos of actresses Shelley Winters, Sandra Dee, Senta Berger and Mitzi Gaynor, all in Hollywood-quality lingerie, illustrate essays.





Nylon Briefs collects quips and comments on the nylon scene from the far corners of the universe. Livin' with Mini[skirts] considers the cultural phenomenon that “show off the best portions of the thighs,” according to one correspondent. Letters to the magazine seem like they were written by actual readers. One short story.

The professional photography shows good direction, maximizing the value of assets in front of the lens. Competent lighting avoids unpleasant shadows. As was common for figure magazines of the 1960s, some pictures have been sprayed with an air-brush to emphasize contour.

The digital replica contains all the content of the original, including advertising. Some page layouts were revised to obtain larger pictures on ebook pages. The original sequence of pages was changed to achieve continuity of prose pieces.

Relaxed in stockings and garter belts, models show off alluring curves. An easy-going visit to a tumultuous time, Nylon Jungle cheerfully pleases with excellent legs in snug hosiery.
