Descriptions of these lovely performers were written by Vickie Lynne. The text pays attention to underwear, lipstick, makeup, wigs, fabrics and footwear.
Bessie Adams
“Bessie Adams is a transvestite who hates his existence as a male by birth . . . his twin sister . . . suggested that, since they were really 'sisters under the skin,' Bessie dress up in her female clothes and thus they could go out together . . . Bessie thinks that . . . a more tolerant attitude toward those who prefer to cross-dress would [make] this a better world to live in . . . if they change the laws forbidding cross-dressing in public, a lot of the unwarranted stigma would be removed and most of the public prejudice . . . would disappear.”

Jewel Flower
“Another female impersonator, Jewel Flower loves to dance and aspires to become an exotic type professional dancer . . . Jewel has six wigs, which he changes into the latest coiffures . . . to match his gowns. . . . Jewel has won numerous prized for his female impersonation act . . . likes to wear heavy earrings [which] he has learned to swing and twist . . . as he dances. . . . He likes to wear long-line corelettes underneath his gowns and he is a devotee of tight-lacing.”
Carla Byrnes
"Carla combs his own wig and sets it in the latest styles for practice. He has always desired to become a girl, ever since he was bitten by the acting bug when he was in college and wore female attire. Feminine clothes felt so cool and comfortable that he never got over the urge to dress up in girls' clothing. Carla wore a lacy underwear ensemble in the show and never quite got over the thrill of wearing dainty lingerie.”
The last pages of the book describe an informal get together at Carla's house, as pictured on the cover. “There they were able to dress up in female attire to their hearts' content without any fear.”
The original volume has more than 30 photographs of guys in drag at home. Some wear dresses while others show off in stockings, undies and heels.
