In the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, some adult magazine publishers would receive returns from distributors and retailers, remove the original covers and attach new covers, giving the interior pages a new name. Re-covers usually had no table of contents because tables of contents were usually placed on the inside front cover, which was removed in the process. Re-cover covers had general descriptions of contents, whereas original covers often showed the titles of pictorials and stories.

We know that Dominant Vixens is a recover because (1) it has no table of contents, (2) is slightly shorter than a typical full-size magazine, and (3) has four staples in the centerfold. Two staples were inserted when published the first time. After the original covers were removed, two additional staples were inserted to attach new covers to interior pages. And to make the new covers fit, the edges of the re-covered magazine were trimmed to make all pages the same size.

We were able to identify the issue number as
Exotique, Volume 7, Number 4.
The ambitious, page-three editorial informs us that the first cover of Dominant Vixens showed Exotique as its name.

The ebook contains all content of the 64-page magazine, including advertising. The sequence of pages was revised to obtain continuity of the short story. The ebook also includes low resolution front cover and back cover images, as found on the original Exotique issue.

Some margins, borders, walls and floors were cropped out. A few page layouts were revised.

Brightness, contrast and levels were adjusted, shadows reduced and many specks re-touched. The good photography transposed to ebook format with clarity.
