Volume 16 introduces us to six people who provide personal histories that describe their experiences, challenges and preferences. None are professional female impersonators, although a couple have aspirations. Rather, these are men who wish they had been born female or who enjoy the tactile pleasure of women's clothing.
The letters discuss fabrics and foundations, makeup, wigs and shaving. The panties of sisters are often the first items of exploration. As these individuals develop private lives as adults, their wardrobes expand to include all that women wear.
Some fondly remember the day they first appeared in public as female, or how their appearance garnered wolf whistles from men. Others dress only in private, their alternate identities a secret to friends and family. One correspondent has a wife who helps him plan his costumes.
When an actress in a stage play becomes ill, the cast's make-up artist recruits her friend Renea for the non-speaking maid role. A photo shows Renea in the costume.
Most of the six writers are recreational, at-home transvestites who make no reference to appearing on stage. The longest letter and the largest number of photos show glamorous Neferito, who aspires to becomes a female impersonator. Although no mention is made of what his theatrical performance might consist of, he provides detailed advice about the fine points of female presentation, with sensible suggestions about gowns, wigs and hats.
The original volume has more than 30 photographs of guys in drag at home. Some wear dresses while others show off in stockings, girdle, garter belt, bra and panties. It appears that most photographs were taken in the early 1960s.
The ebook is a close digital replica, duplicating the page sequence of the original. The pictures are snapshots by amateurs using simple cameras. Tonality was adjusted to achieve clarity, but most edges are soft. All the content of the original is included in the ebook, except for advertising.
