TV Sex Survey Results

The article presents replies to a TV Sexuality Survey first published in Female Impersonator News. The replies, mostly in essay/narrative form, describe events and practices of anonymous transvestites and she males.

The piece also includes this summary:

Out of 187 survey forms already analyzed, transvestites (who represented 85 per cent of the respondents, while 15 per cent were transsexuals) stated that they wore various items of female clothing, mainly hosiery and underwear; that they had rarely if ever gone out of their dwelling place in drag; that other members of their family, more often than not, were totally unaware of thier cross-dressing; that they owned full-length mirrors, and that masturbation was their favorite form of sexual release.

In fact, most of them went into lengthy details on just how they set up their big masturbation scene every time they crossdress. Several of them called masturbation their "best sexual experience" and stated that they "dress to masturbate," and "all dressing sessions end in masturbation."

A few enjoy sex with wives or girlfriends while dressed, but claim that it's hard to find a female sex partner who is turned on, or even will put up with, transvestism. This, of course, may help account for the big majority of masturbators, along with the fact that most transvestites begin the practice so early in life, the pattern of masturbation is set because a sexual partner could not be found, or even understood . . .

Only two respondents answered "no" to whether they masturbate.

Of the respondents, over one-third claimed they were heterosexual, a slight edge over those checking bisexual. Only a little more than 25 per cent checked "homosexual." One wrote in "male lesbian," and one stated: "I don't like labels. I like pretty women and 'pretty' TVs/TSs, but masculinity repulses me . . ."

On marital status, half the transvestites said they were married; about one-fourth were single, and a little less than one-fourth divorced. One reported being separated, and one was "cohabitating."
Sex frequency ranged from "every day" to "several times weekly," to "3 to 6 months." Most popular frequency seemed to be 3 to 4 times weekly.

The length of crossdressing sessions ranged from 20 hours each day to 3/4 hour "when possible." Some transvestites spend their entire weekends crossdressed, others wear female nightclothes every night, and others said "as long as I'm at home." The average was approximately 3 hours per session and about one day twice a month.

On the question of masturbation frequency, respondents varied from 3 times a day, once a day, once a week, to "when my wife has her period." Only one respondent said he never masturbated because "my sex life is great."

A number went out of their way in answering this question to explain just how they masturbate. One said he masturbates "about three times a day. And I'm dressed in women's clothing. I dress up and when I see myself dressed, it really turns me on."

"I masturbate while dressed, rubbing and stroking my penis through panties and slip or gown." "Twice weekly, I get dressed up and masturbate in women's clothing. Yes, it's the only way I can get it up . . . mostly fantasies and do it by rubbing something flat on my stomach."

An interesting observation: "I never masturbate in women's clothing because I like having them on and, after I would masturbate, I would want to take them off, so I do not masturbate because I don't want to take them off."
