After publishing Man's Favorite Pastime and Black Silk Stockings, at the age of 40, Mr. Batters creates Leg-O-Rama. On page two of the premier issue, he shares these guiding ideas.
Leg-O-Rama is a pictorial magazine consisting of a series of optical treats with unlimited views of feminine pulchritude — revealing by concealing — as it unfolds in the privacy of the home, at the office, in the park, or on the streets. These true life optical treats as they occur very seldom afford a second admiring glance or as in most unfortunate cases remain completely obscured from sight. Since these optical treats are quite rare and always a pleasure to view we would therefore like to dedicate to the connoisseurs of true life glamour Leg-O-Rama.
Here, he expresses sentiments held by many male leg fetishists. Surrounded by women with leg loveliness at home or at work or on the street, the objects of fascination are obscured by attire or activity. In his magazine, the loveliness gets frozen in time, displayed for easy inspection and leisurely contemplation by a fellow leg enthusiast who knows how to pose a model and capture her pulchritude with a camera.
The artisan has a voluptuous point of view that reveals itself in the placement of model and camera. He believes that the feminine curves of legs yield optimum delight when sheathed in sheer stockings and perched in heels. And lingerie amplifies femininity better than nudity.
The magazine offers six pictorials, five lensed by Mr. Batters. The address of each model ends each blurb.

Her first-person narrative tells about her California employment, voice lessons, and mail order pin-up photo business. She appears in nylons, garter belt, mules and bath suds.
Shirley Kilpatrick
Except for either a white dress or dark fur, Shirley and her feet are bare. Except for the dangling earrings. In accompanying text, she expresses concern about being able to respond to a deluge of fan mail.
Margaret Martin
In and out of black pumps, Margaret poses well-turned ankles for the photographer in the room. In kitchen and parlor, she wears garter belt, full-fashioned stockings and black negligee.

The ebook contains all content of the original, including two pages of advertising, in the original page sequence. Horizontal photographs were rotated for viewing convenience.
Some empty margins, walls and floors were cropped out. A few page layouts were revised.
Brightness, contrast and levels were adjusted, shadows reduced and many specks re-touched. The ebook improves on the picture quality of this rare, 1959 original.
Possibly the first photographer to use the expression leg art, Elmer Batters' long career as photographer and publisher of pinup, cheesecake and fetish imagery earned him international appreciation. Like most creative people, he developed craft and focus throughout his life. In the century after his death, ebooks present his female ideal and unwavering point of view.
