High-Heeled Tyrant, Volume One

Erotica Publishing Co. may have been a partnership that existed just for this publication. An unusual mid-century relic, High-Heeled Tyrantappears to be driven by well-crafted prose. On 60+ pages, only five photographs interrupt the carefully typed text.


Unlike Exotique/Burtman fiction, the characters precisely articulate the details of their alternative sexual wants. The meanness of the demanding female character does not occur after the story ends, but starts early and continues.


Seeking a woman who will hurt and dominate him, Howard visits a bar and finds exotic Wanda, whose pleasures include tormenting submissive men. Soon, he becomes a resident slave at her mansion, doing the work of a household servant.
Wanda whips any part of him as her whims impel, steps on him in spike-heeled shoes, but hurts him deeply when she uses another male slave and ignores Howard. Despite her varied cruelties, he is enchanted by her strength and dazzling beauty, always presented in an attractive fetish uniform that includes pumps with towering heels.


Near the middle of the story, we read —

He remained motionless as she drove off. Then he had time to reflect on the debut of his adventure; until now he had regretted nothing. Wanda had had the gestures and words needed to impose herself on his mind and body. He retained the memory and marks of her power. He hoped that she would, in the days to come, refine the humiliations and multiply the ordeals. . . . she would know how to show herself the authoritative and capricious mistress that everything pointed to, and she would make him her true love slave.

The model — Dixie Rainwater — in the five photographs expresses a sexy, aristocratic countenance that conforms to descriptions in the prose by Donald Alber. In each image, she holds either whip or rope. The close digital replica presents every page in the sequence of the original. The $5.00 price on the cover reflects the publisher's pride in his product. $5.00 in 1960 would be equivalent to more than $50.00 in today's dollars.


It's clear that those involved in High-Heeled Tyrant had ambitions of achieving quality comparable to that of 20th century European producers. With precise delineations of sadist and masochist feelings, this work delivered unusually authentic fiction for its time.

Tales of Female Domination over Men, Volume Six

After the death of Mr. Klaw, his sister Pauline, sold about 70 sets of flats to Ed Mishkin, who had been a prolific publisher of controversial adult materials since the early 1950s. Flats contained the films with which offset plates were burned. Mr. Mishkin was publishing Mutrix booklets in Jersey City at the time the flats were delivered, and 70 of his Mutrix titles were second printings of Nutrix booklets. This item shows Nutrix on the title page and Mutrix on the front cover.


Volume Six in the series tells a tale of revenge by women who were swindled by John Andrews and his cohort, Joe. Victims Jane and Gloria hire Domeena, head of Man Tamers, Inc., to wreak a series of punishments on the two men who took money under false pretenses.


Both text and pictures show fully-clothed men tied to a door, pole, table and sofa with ropes. A few photographs portray face slapping and spanking with a hair brush.


Trim women wear an assortment of dresses and angry frowns. We see nice legs in stockings and high heels below hems.


Brightness and contrast of the photographs were adjusted and specks re-touched.

Mr. Klaw invented this publication and probably wrote the story. Obviously intended to accommodate appetites for photo-illustrated fiction depicting the theme of the title, the five preceding offerings in the series must have been popular with his mail-order clientele. The ebook version offers the best mechanism for enjoying this far-fetched fantasy of high-heeled lovelies punishing males in bondage.
