The late Mr. Bilbrew was one of the most prolific and vivid fetish artists of the past century. He illustrated the cover of almost every issue of Exotique magazine from 1954 to 1959 and provided much of its graphic content. He used several names to sign his work, including J. Bondy, Van Rod, Nan Gilbert and Eneg. The last panel of Satan in High Heels shows, "Illustrated by Eneg" even though the first panel is signed "Gene Bilbrew".

This story expresses many of Eneg's favorite themes: dominant femininity, transvestitism, fetishism, subterfuge. All line art, the penmanship is superb with fine details and a beautiful, devious diva. Each page of the original has been placed on a separate ebook page.

This comic serial was published in at least four different iterations. I found this serial in four consecutive issues of High Heels Magazine from 1969 and 1970. This was a Selbee/Burtman publication.

historical note
Satan in High Heels was first available by mail-order as 8” x 10” photo-prints of the original artwork, two pages per sheet. Re-named Female by Choice, the comic was published in Connoisseur C-17 (Selbee Associates, Inc., 1963). This version arranged the panels on 44 pages and added a color cover by Eric Stanton. Female by Choice also contained a short story, “Millie’s Strange Adventure” with nine Gene Bilbrew illustrations.
Divided into three installments, “Satan in High Heels” was presented in the first three volumes of TV Summer Camp (Mutrix/Wholesale Book Corporation, mid-1960s) with its original title.

It was later republished in four parts in High Heels magazine Volume 1, Numbers 13 through 16 (Consolidated Publishing, 1969 - 1970). Of the 32 pages that comprise this ebook, 30 originated in High Heels magazine.

Mr. Burtman produced a feature film titled Satan in High Heels in 1962 and he is listed in the credits as "L. Burton." This story has no similarity to the plot of the film with the same name.
