We've offered Mr. Hayle's prose in other Exotique publications. His interest in cross-dressing was expressed in Males in Bondage and Maid to Please.

Here, Mr. Hayle shares a first-person memoir of his days working as a theater professional in London and living in a house with multiple apartments. A widow from his hometown, Cis owned the house and enjoyed the company of theater folk, their wit, their stories, their tolerance and their variety. He begins his reverie this way:

This story has three main ingredients: the Theatrical profession, the menage where I lived, and a pair of button boots. And in that order, I think.

There is one thing that the theatrical profession teaches above all, and that is tolerance. It is a profession in which every type of person is employed regardless of the colour of one's skin, or education: land of birth, or of one's morals: there are normal people, "queers," lesbians, transvestites but over each and all there is the law: live and let live. By its very nature the profession attracts odd and peculiar people. And why not indeed? Who, in the audience would want to pay good money to see a bank clerk or a shop assistant trying to act? No! The profession is filled with people who have striking personalities or who are beautiful or handsome or who can act, and happy is he or she who is the possessor of a strong personality, is beautiful (or handsome) and can also act.

I am beginning the story this way to explain so much of what comes after. How there happened to be two "queers" or transvestites staying in the same menage as myself. . . .

Don and Billy come to reside in Cis's house and the five of them have delightful evenings. One night, Cis tells Brian that two girls will be visiting them. They appear in fetish attire and are introduced as Dona and Billie. Brian soon understands that the girls are his two male flatmates.

Billy finds out that Brian has a passion for patent, boots and gloves. Using her scented leather, Billie lures Brian to participate in fetish ritual.

A waft of powder and perfume floated over me as I looked at her snow white flesh. Without any premeditation at all I drew my hands down her back right down to her waist where the dress began again. Billie shuddered from stem to stern – and what a stern she had!

"Oh, Please!" she said, with her head thrown backwards. And then with a giggle: "It was nice though!" Then turning round towards me she said, "And what about - - but no!" and she chastely held her hands to her breasts.

"But my shoes and my gloves? You like them? Yes? No?" Here she struck a pose with one leg crossed highly over the other knee and stroked her shoe with the palms of her gloves. There was a screechy, scrunchy sound as her gloves squeezed and moved over the surface of the shoe and her mouth opened and then shut, but with a brilliant smile as she knew what was happening to me. Then, all of a sudden she broke the pose and thrusting one highly perfumed shoe under my nose she said, "Go on, smell it. You know you want to."

Without knowing what I was doing, I drew in a deep breath and then clasped it to my lips with both hands. I breathed it in again, and yet again. Heavenly!

I am quite sure that it was that second when all my resistance, both conscious and sub-conscious, crumbled.

In another scene, Billie has Brian stroke and fondle her thigh-high button boots. Then, she has him kiss the buttons on her long kid gloves.

The author provides details about the fetish apparel worn by his transvestite acquaintances. He's candid about his compliance with Billie's instructions to show appreciation and his own physical and emotional response to the scents and textures she brings close.

The booklet has the size and construction of a typical Exotique magazine. The text occupies about 50 pages. Unrelated Exotique photographs occupy 9 pages. Mr. Bilbrew's cover illustration, which is repeated on the back cover, relates to the story's theme of leather fetishism.

The ebook consists of scans of the pages, arranged in the sequence of the original. Blank pages are omitted.

Levels, brightness and contrast were adjusted, and on photographs, shadows reduced. The ebook provides an easy-to-read digital replica of the 1950s volume.
