During the 1970s, Eros Publishing Company launched the Bizarre Books series with diagonal Eros Goldstripe ribbons on covers. The series featured male domination and female domination themes, often with forced transvestism and fetish rituals, usually illustrated by a gifted artist.

By chance, Devon sees gorgeous Felicia at a karate lesson and follows her home. She's amused by his persistence and decides to pursue a relationship with him when she comes to understand how submissive he his. She's in such a good mood the day after meeting him, that she whips her male secretary for gossiping and takes him on the floor of her office.

During the first month of their courtship, Felicia introduces him to the lifestyle of a dominated male. She whips him, forces him to wear women's clothing, teases him, insults him, and uses his mouth for vile cleanup tasks. Naturally, he proposes marriage, and they agree to be engaged.

To celebrate their one month anniversary, Felicia orchestrates a party, has her beau wear a tight, short dress, and invites her friend, Georgina. Beefy, demeaning and demanding, she calls Devon 'Boy' and orders him to perform body worship involving caviar.

To impress her friend, Felicia uses punishment implements new to her fiancee. These are so painful and degrading that he announces an end to their engagement and bolts for the door. Not to be defied, the two women push him down a staircase and he winds up with multiple injuries, as shown on the cover.

A Woman To Be Feared has 11 illustrations by the Great Bill Ward. In a way, the characters in the pictures dress better than the characters in the prose. Mr. Ward's voluptuous brunettes are seen in stockings, corsets and high-heeled shoes and boots. The hapless male wears stockings, panties, a dress and spike-heeled pumps and licks shoe leather in three scenes.

Some pictures do not relate to events in the story. Some events in the story do not appear in the pictures.

The text has been completely re-set for the ebook version. Editing changes spelling and punctuation. A few sentences were revised for simplicity. The story presents a sexy sadist who is irresistible to the volunteer who becomes the object of her cruelty. Felicia's desire to hurt weak males drives the femdom fiction. She enjoys the embarrassment, discomfort and degradation of her prey.

The author does a skillful job of describing Felicia's allure and the torments she devises. Chapters describe ornate masochist fantasy with episodes of unusual punishments, gratuitous and grotesque.

In both prose and pictures, the savage beauty dons the spiky, leather attire associated with dominant women. The ebook offers the most convenient mechanism for enjoying this rare artifact of 1970s fetish culture.
