Printed on rough-textured paper, this full-sized magazine collects illustration and fiction that explore dark corners of domination and submission fantasy between men. The stories illuminate scenes of brutality, not love, in an assortment of locales. Ropes, chains, handcuffs, whips, clamps, padlocks, collars, and a clothespin hurt captive men, in and out of bondage, while cruel protagonists exult in their sadistic rituals.
The Private Edition Treasury shows no publisher, but the introduction on page 1 is signed L/T, which could have been the late Larry Townsend. Whoever the editor/publisher was, the book seems to be a collection of contest winners.
He writes —
In this, the fourth in my privately published Treasury series, I have attempted to assemble the best efforts of several contributors. It is by far the most extensive (and expensive) production to date. Hopefully, it will set a new, high standard. (Although I may regret this when I try to match it.)
The three winners of the 1974 story contest are included, plus an extra story submitted by the first place contestant. I would like to note, however, that no two judges agreed 100%. . . .
I am particularly pleased to be able to present the best of three artists: Sean, as illustrator of the stories and the S&M Country Club feature; Kaarlo in a beautifully executed picture story; and our 1974 drawing contest winner, who presents his latest effort as a “thank you” for your votes.
— The editor refers to photographs, but they are not found in the magazine and do not appear in the ebook. It's possible that they were on center pages that fell out, but the extant 48 pages are continuous and complete. —
All of the content of the magazine is included in the full-sized digital replica. Ebook page sequence duplicates the original. Brightness and contrast were adjusted. A few page layouts were revised slightly
for better monitor viewing.

An artist named Kaarlo offers the best illustration in this volume with a wordless picture story named Double Twist. In Finnish, Kaarlo means strong and masculine and his pictures explode with explicit masculinity and developed physiques.
Kaarlo's pictures abound with gratuitous swasticas, chains, leather, whips, forced sex, and multiple manifestations of manhood. He delineates scenes and figures with impressive professional skill, a celebratory exaggeration of maleness.
To capture every drop of Kaarlo's sexy scenario, his pictures are included as printed in the digital replica and also presented in a separate, optimized iteration of 30 pages. In the optimized version, each picture fills a page and, as possible, details are repeated beside the complete figures or on another page. In most optimized ebooks, type is excised. Here, swastikas are removed.
At both ends of the whip, the manly characters in this earnest Treasury of S & M expose prodigious genitalia, both circumcised and uncut. The imagery threads cruel power — man-over-man — as a sexual theme throughout the magazine. The ebooks deliver easy access to all the turbulent masculinity.
On December 1, 2022, Bolerium Books of San Francisco offered their description of this book:
Self-published by the author, [1975]. Magazine. [48p] 8.5x11 inches, stories illustrated with b&w photos and with explicit erotic drawings by Sean, very good magazine/booklet in stapled green explicit pictorial wraps. Winners of a 1974 contest are printed here. Kaarlo's strip is of a . . . torture dungeon. Price: $195.00
NOTE
Although some parts of pictures are obscured on this page, the ebook shows everything that's in the original.
