Possibly the first photographer to use the expression Leg Art, Elmer Batters is listed as Editor of Nylon Double Take. The magazine presents pretty models in stockings, sometimes in conversation with a man. Typically, heels are about three inches and hosiery RHT. A couple of Mr. Batters' beauties wear short boots. No white sneakers in this volume.
Settings include bedrooms, living rooms, kitchen, balcony, ocean pier, desert rocks, airport, backyard, patio, urban sidewalk and construction site. It's all silliness that's used as pretext to show off legs, panties, stockings and garter belts. True to its title, most photos show women in nylons.
The ebook collects all 80 pages in the original sequence. Picture tonality has been adjusted and specks re-touched. Some page were revised to avoid reducing the size of pictures.
Although this is a digital replica, many pages hold but a single picture, producing an optimized viewing experience.
All new scans.
Famous for his preferences as a photographer of women's legs and feet, Mr. Batters' selection of limbs, feminine poses, snug stockings and camera placement create excellent pinup pictures. Models appear to be having fun, as if they enjoy having legs that provoke ogling.
With a light tone, the focus centers on the pleasures of looking at young lovelies at various stages of undress. Some of the leggy ladies of Nylon Double Take seem to be first-time models.
This may be a magazine Mr. Batters published out of his home, using talent discovered in the neighborhood. Whatever its origins, Nylon Double Take offers a pleasing vocabulary of curves and shapes for legmen who speak any language.
