Bound Boss
A gifted artist with an unswerving point of view, RAM gave us a body of work that continues to entertain and excite. He shows gorgeous women in a spectrum of stormy moods — vicious, imperious, angry, exhausted and hurt. Often confident and disdainful, RAM's charmers communicate with expressive eyes and lips.
Stantoons 2 attaches a “RAM and Stanton” byline to Bound Boss. Male and female shapes and characters display RAM's adroit cartoon techniques but Mr. Stanton may have penciled some contour shading. The story follows a classic Stanton narrative pattern: an angry beauty out-fights, hurts and punishes an arrogant male, as in Punished Publisher. Although RAM hand lettered dialog balloons and narrative blocks, Mr. Stanton may have suggested some scenario and vocabulary.
In the offices of Athletic Man magazine, intelligent Susan brings owner Ken another reader's letter that asks for more coverage of female athletes, a recommendation Susan endorses. Ken tells Susan's boss Tom to fire her.
Instead of conducting a simple termination interview, pretentious, misguided Tom launches into a rant containing a threat. Susan intercepts his grab and kicks him where it hurts the most.
More kicks knock him out. When he awakes, his trousers are gone. He finds himself bent over and bound to a table, his wrists tied against his back. Susan expresses long-suppressed anger and spanks him with a pliant wood strip.
Tom's pain in these ignominious circumstances intensifies when Susan uses a broom handle in the worst possible way. When Tom's pretty girlfriend, office secretary Mary, returns from lunch, he endures an extra serving of anguished humiliation.
Male misconduct provides sufficient grounds for punishment in an ideological context that values male/female equality. In 1982, the US hadn't accomplished gender wage parity, despite all the literature and political activism that promoted workplace fairness. The popular language of “women's liberation” ideas justifies many Stanton narratives that depict females enforcing bizarre discipline on males. [Before WWII, mean females in erotic stories were often justified by a vague aristocracy.]
Although best known for his voluptuous wrestlers, Ram's beauties in Boss provoke careful inspection. Shapely and sexy, Susan wears a low-cut dress that exposes attractive cleavage and long legs in stockings and pumps. No sensible man would want to antagonize her.
Bound Boss is a comic book of 20 pages with one, two and three panels per page. The digital replica shows the multi-panel pages as originally presented in Stantoons 2 with brightness and contrast adjusted. All original scans.
The optimized ebook exposes illustrations on 40+ pages that fill screens from top to bottom with grand female figures. Some dialog balloons were repositioned. Tasty action and fetish features of these dynamic images are repeated, enlarged, beside the complete panel or on pages that follow.
If you owned the booklet for decades, and looked at it a hundred times, the ebook would disclose art you had never seen. This fine 30-year-old work is now available for easy appreciation in the optimized ebook iteration.
Broken for Pleasure
Everything about Broken for Pleasure is anonymous — the writer, the artist, the publisher. Whatever its date of publication may have been, everyone concerned considered this ultra dirty erotica. Like many 60-page, illustrated-story booklets, this one has a card-stock cover, printed with one ink. Apparently, the Broken for Pleasure title was thought to be so audacious and explicit that a sheet of white bond paper with “A Study in Corporal Punishment” printed in black conceals the cover. This wasn't an afterthought; two staples accomplish the binding. Re-titling intends conversion of bizarre fiction into an academic project.
Johnny needs a job and drives to a ranch that advertises for a hand. There he meets partners Chris and Shirley, two enchanting ladies who dress to entice.
At first, Johnny's days involve simple hard work. One evening, he returns to his room to find all of his clothes missing. He soon learns that the pretty couple has a devious plan to transform the sturdy employee into submissive sex toy in women's undies.
They dress him in bra, panties and nylons and attach his limbs to bedposts with ropes. Shirley and Chris take turns using various whips on his back, urging him to acknowledge his pain and surrender. They shave him without soap and feed him like a dog.
After Chris laces a corset around him, they adjourn to the stables, where she selects a small saddle, bridle and reins. In the corral, the sexy captors take turns riding him. Later, leather straps attach Johnny to the braces of a stall.
Ten professional ink and pencil illustrations illuminate the story. The artist skillfully delineates sublime female figures in an assortment of brief leather outfits, many Western in style. After Johnny's violent introduction to female domination, the ladies are shown enjoying themselves with their bewildered muscleman. His face shows anguish and despair.
Illustrations depict incidents in the story and the grand female figures of two shapely sadists. As permitted by story content, picture sequence was revised to position each image close to related prose, but not every picture is described precisely. Some drawings do not relate to events in the story. Some events in the story are not reflected in pictures. Tasty details of these dynamic images are repeated, enlarged, beside the complete picture or on other pages.
The prose sketches settings and provides details of punishment scenes and utensils. The competent third-person narrative provides good descriptions of women's attire and the distressed emotions of tormented Johnny.
The text has been completely re-set for the ebook version. Editing changes a small amount of spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. A few sentences were revised for simplicity and some redundancy reduced. A lengthy short story of 9,000+ words. All original scans.
Johnny experiences the frustration of being attracted to women whose planned pleasure involves hurting and humiliating him. Shirley and Chris orchestrate captivity that restricts diet and sleep as well as movement. Enforcement of their cruel whims ensures that Johnny's manhood is denied, his masculinity neutered and his self-confidence demolished. These vivacious tyrants advertised for a ranch hand but actually sought a man they could enslave for fun.
The team that produced Broken for Pleasure believed that some adult-book-store shoppers would enjoy reading an illustrated story of a man being bound, whipped, cross-dressed, and saddled by two lovely women in boots. The optimized ebook presents all the kinky motifs of the obscure original in a digital iteration that makes good use of the fine illustrations on 20 pages. Whether categorized as sadist fiction or masochist fantasy, the ebook mechanism makes it easy to enjoy.
